Alternate Realities- A Review/Summary of Star Trek

So I went to see the star trek movie at 7 last night and all in all it was a good movie so I’m gonna kinda hit some of the key points in the movie here.  I won’t give villains names or reasons for the villains because you should go see it yourself.  Oh and I haven’t seen every episode of the original series so if I get something wrong feel free to correct me even though this has nothing to do with the original series.

So the first half was kind of wordy giving us Kirk and Spocks past.
Kirk was born on a shuttle pod that was escaping the Romulans who were trying to kill them, Kirk’s father saved them by running his ship into the Romulans ship…now if anyone actually watched the series Kirk’s father was alive when he was a kid.
Then there was this whole pointless scene where we see Kirk drive an antique car off a cliff…there was no reason for this scene and it could have been left out.
Spock grew up on Vulcan and got picked on because he was half human. He went into starfleet academy because the Vulcans accepted them to their science academy and told him that his only flaw was that his mother was human.
There’s a lot more “wordyness” as Kirk joins Starfleet and meets McCoy for the first time and then the next thing we know it’s been three years and he’s taking the exams for the third time. He cheats, anyone who has seen any of the movies or the series can tell you this. Spock who designed the program gets mad and has an academic trial against him, which is cut short because of distress calls from Vulcan. Kirk can’t get onto the ship because of academic probation and McCoy gets him on. Oh and Uhura is there too she’s arguing with Spock because she’s not on the right ship and he puts her on Enterprise because she makes her point very clear.  At this point it’s very clear that there is a background between them.
We don’t really get to the fighting, but they get into a fight with the Romulans yet again lots of people die. Lots and lots of people die…
Spock gets mad at Kirk and sends him to some planet. Where he meets well…Spock…yeah…time travel…they then travel to this building where they meet Scotty.  He kind of implies that he lives there because Archer got mad at him for teleporting his dog somewhere…poor porthnose he didn’t deserve that….  Anyways back on track now Scotty gets them back to Enterprise with his formula which he hasn’t created yet, thank you Spock, and Kirk takes over the ship, by making Spock become emotional. They go back and rescue earth and there’s a minor make out scene between Spock and Uhura before they leave to beam onto the Romulan ship.  After saving everyone everything goes back to normal…for them…Spock has to go live elsewhere because he can’t return to his own timeline. Oh well.
So this leaves open the option of a whole new series with an alternate reality…I’d actually watch that if they did it. All in all the movie was good, but I don’t think they should have done an alternate reality unless they really do plan on doing a series.

Other random thoughts Uhura and Spock are cute together :)

It’s a bit too convienient that the villains were killed by something they stole.

Spock  getting emotional…what the heck?  I don’t like it.

Any other thoughts? Or coments on the movie?
